Harnessing Love’s Power
to Stop Oppression

Week 1: January 19–26

Week 1    Week 2     Week 3     Week 4

Honoring Legacy

We begin our Thirty Days of Love with a commitment to sustained action and service, anchored in our commemoration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This is a time to lift up those who paved the trail ahead of us—the change-makers whose leadership and inspiration inform our own worldviews and transformed our society into a more loving place. Join us in redoubling our commitment to honor these heroic legacies through our own justice-making.

The Month Ahead

Wednesday, January 23

“For each child that’s born a morning star rises and sings to the universe who we are.”
– Y. M. Barnwell, “WE ARE”

Daily Action:

Make a commitment to honor courageous love in your community. You can present an award to your honoree on behalf of your congregation, send a special “courageous love” Valentine, or even write a letter to the editor lifting up your honoree’s contribution to the community! You can also add your honoree’s story to our online courageous love map.

Action for Families:

Help your child think of someone you know who works to make the world a better place. Make a thank-you card and mail it together.
