Harnessing Love’s Power
to Stop Oppression

Week 2: January 27– February 02

Week 1    Week 2     Week 3     Week 4

Think Interfaith

The Standing on the Side of Love campaign is rooted in Unitarian Universalist principles, but our spirit is interfaith and increasingly we encompass individuals from many faith traditions. Nevertheless, we all believe that each of us is connected and that it takes a village to build the Beloved Community. Let us unite with those from different backgrounds who share our common goal of a more just and loving world.

The Month Ahead

Tuesday, January 29

“To love one another does not mean to agree about everything. Love is in part about a willingness to put aside what we are convinced is right in order to be careful enough to listen to one another.”
– Dr. Melissa Harris-Perry, author and TV host

Daily Action:

As we gear up for a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass compassionate, comprehensive immigration reform, it is imperative that we continue to build the power and capacity of interfaith immigrant justice coalitions at the local level. Help strengthen the partnerships in your community by preparing your congregation or other community organization to participate in the Breaking Bread, Building Bridges campaign.

Action for Families:

Ask your child: who do you know who practices a different religion than your family? How many ways is their religion is like ours?
