Courageous Love: Michigan UU Social Justice Network
On January 25th, the Michigan UU Social Justice Network (MUUSJN) LGBT Advocacy Task Force testified before the Michigan Civil Rights Commission on the need to pass anti-bullying legislation. On behalf of the Task Force, Randy Block testified that some conservative “legislators’ apparent bias against persons based on their sexual identity had created a barrier to passing legislation that would help protect all our State’s children”. He said that people from all levels of our state, from state legislators to parents and children, need to be part of the solution. A Commission member expressed appreciation for this testimony and said he would like to have further discussions with our UU justice network of 1,300 activists from 26 UU congregations. Yes!
