Courageous Love: Catherine Lynch

Hendersonville, NC

PFLAG honored Catherine Lynch as a person who exemplifies the characteristics of what if means to stand on the side of love. Catherine has worked tirelessly to focus attention on the plight of the immigrants in our community. She is co-chair of the Justice for Immigrants ministry at Immaculate Conception, and has organized events to educate not only her faith community, but the wider community as well. She organized the Dream Act Conference held at Immaculata, served on the Henderson County Human Relations Council where she was a significant force for human rights for all people, the Henderson County Justice Initiative for immigration rights, and represents her church on the Interfaith Ministerial Association. She has spearheaded the silent vigil that meets monthly in front of the historic Henderson County Court House to help bring awareness to the plight of immigrants. She seeks to be involved with other community organizations that are working to pass immigration reform that will bring justice for immigrants, including those who may be undocumented. At Immaculate church she is chair of the Community Life Commission and on the Parish Council. She certainly “stands on the side of Love.”

Thank you, Catherine Lynch
